About Abiding In Hope
We are Catholic
We are a Catholic ministry and are in line with the beliefs of the Catholic Church. You do not need to be Catholic to join our organization (anyone is welcome!). Our resources do follow the teaching of the Catholic Church in that we will not recommend IUI, IVF, or other procedures outside of The Church. If you have sought out these procedures in hope of a child, know that we do not condemn you. We would love to walk with you and provide support that seeks the greatest good for you and your family.
We want root-cause answers
Besides the moral implications of IVF, we believe its a bandaid “solution” that disregards the underlying health issues of the husband and wife. We want the best for you, and that includes identifying and healing those underlying issues. Its hard to find doctors and resources that want this for you, so thats why we want to share resources. When you find a provider or resource that promotes true healing, share it with the community!
We are building intentional community through one-on-one accompaniment
Infertility is an incredibly personal trial. It takes a lot to open up with others about it, and it can be hard to do that in a public setting. That is why we came up with the idea of matchmaking – to link people together so you can walk with one another through this suffering. You are not alone in this, we are here for you!

Who is running this?
Hi, my name is Julia Rush. My husband and I attend Christ the King in Tulsa, and we’re going on year 6 of infertility. After two years of ignoring our infertility, I finally started facing reality and I was craving community. I had no one to talk to who could really understand what I was going through, no resources on where to turn to beyond a google search, no doctors that were curious about what was preventing pregnancy. I had been told “I don’t need to see your cycle charts” or “let me know when you want to get serious about having children and I’ll prescribe XYZ.” by multiple OBGYNs who offered no help beyond a blanket prescription and a referral to a fertility clinic. It took years for me to find people to talk to, and the more I opened up the more I found that women all around me were going through the same thing. I realized there were local ministries for nearly every group except this void in the infertility space. It took a year of pondering over this issue for me to figure out what this community needed and to get the courage to put myself out there in a very vulnerable way, but I knew there was a need and felt a nudge from God to step into that void. I am the one who will be reaching out and matching you with a friend! I am sorry we’re here but I am happy that you found us and hope this ministry brings hope and healing to you!
Thanks also to Dcn Bill Monteith and his wife Chris, who have offered to support this ministry and who also understand what we’re going through. Deacon Bill serves at St. Clement in Bixby and at Catholic Charities and Chris is a licensed Catholic therapist at Evolution Mental Health Services in Broken Arrow.
